Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada

Anyone who is among the living has hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!

Big City, Little People

Toronto, Canada

"There was once a small city with only a few people in it. And a powerful king came against it, surrounded it and built huge siege works against it. Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man." - Ecclesiastes 9:14-15 (NIV)

Under The October Sun

Gibson Moments

Over the past four years, Gibson Centre has been a vision, a building project and more importantly a movement to reach out to the community with the compassion and hope of Jesus.

These selected images tried to capture the different moments of such exercise of faith, a much collaborative effort and certainly a work in progress.

Checking Out

Toronto, Canada

Dog looking through a fence trying to survey activities that are going on inside the playground. Guess, the need to be informed is not exclusively a human property.

Street of Lijiang

Lijiang, China

The best way to explore the old town of Lijiang is by walking. Crisscrossing the narrow streets often landed on different surprises … you just don’t know what, who you would running into.

Marching On The Yellow Lines

North Point, Hong Kong

Street protesting is part of a Hong Kong sub-culture; it has become a way of expressing public opinion for people of Hong Kong. So, It is perfectly normal to see long line of people marching and chanting along the main artery of the city on a Sunday afternoon.

Crossing The Yellow Lines

Central, Hong Kong

Try crossing a cross-walk during lunch hour in Central Hong Kong would take some zigzagging skill. Because there is always someone cutting into your path to pass you without any kind of left turn or right turn signal.

5 Days in Tainan, Taichung

Caotun Township, Nantou County, Taiwan

Doing road trip between Tainan (southern Taiwan) and Taichung (central Taiwan) in five days was quite a different way to experience Taiwan. Unlike Taipei—a cosmopolitan city, Tainan and Taichung offer a more down-to-earth (village like) look and feel. This series of images are visual journal of my attempts to connect with the place and people that I have encountered along the way.

Motorcycle, Woman

Chiayi County, Taiwan

In Taiwan, motorcycle is a way of life—they are everywhere. And because of its popularity as the most common and affordable means of transportation, to many people a motorcycle perhaps is one of their closest travel companion.

Bridge Over A Walkway

Chiayi County, Taiwan

This small town in Chiayi county, Taiwan, has its point of attraction: it is a bridge over a dry-up river and a walkway by its side. There is nothing scenic about walking along a river that has no water, but the sight of a bridge over it (a river of rocks and wild plants) is something out of ordinary.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
- Isaiah 55:8-9(ESV)

Red and White

Lamma Island, Hong Kong

Continue on with our chase for colour, we hopped on a ferry from Central, Hong Kong to come to Lamma Island—a tiny island located to the southwest of Hong Kong Island. Here we came across this small village house with decorative artwork on the wall, which added an extra flair to a already peaceful and tranquil ambiance of this locale.

Yellow and White

Chiayi County, Taiwan

Following our chase for colour, we came to Chiayi — a county in southwestern Taiwan. Mostly townships and small villages, Chiayi gives a more down-to-earth look and feel—different from big cities like Taipei. We arrived at the almost end season of the yellow flower of Golden Trumpet tree(風鈴木). Though we missed the full blossom week, yet clusters of yellow flowers can still be found; waiting to be discovered and appreciated.

Alisan, Fog and Colour

Alisan, Taiwan

It must be at least a few hundred turns that we had to make along this long and winding road before arriving at Alisan (a.k.a Mount Ali). Fog and rain welcomed us as we made our way to our base (the guest house). Though it’s wet and foggy, Alisan’s beauty and mystery did not get diminished a bit; it simply got me lost in the dense fog and rich colour of cherry blossom.

The Message

Times Square, New York City

A simple handheld board with a three-word message against the world of mega billboards and giant LED displays, it's like the fight between David and Goliath. The result … perhaps the true and authentic one has the real impact.
